This is my story of how Jesus continues to rescue me from myself. I am learning to put Him first. If you have found this blog, we are some how connected and it is my prayer it points you to Him. Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

Holey Heart
My first poem.
In the center of my heart lies a hole
It is not a wound
It is not a lonely feeling
It is not a scary feeling
It has not gone away by ignoring it
It has not been filled by material success
It has not been filled by marriage
It has not been filled by having children
It has not been filled by any amount of attainment
Culture says it has the solution “the American Dream”
I know this not to be the truth, tried it
I cannot tell you why this hole exist
I know it is really deep or even bottomless
I know my mind wants to fill it by being busy
I know God created this hole
I know it takes faith to live with
I know it takes dependence to exist with
I know it has everything to do with my purpose
I know without it I am a robot
I know it is to know God
I know I can always find Him there
In the center of your heart, is there a hole too.
Here is a quote by Blaise Pascal which describes the hole and its diagnosis.
“There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus”

Margin
I have come to realize how important it has become in my life to have margin. No longer do I crowd my schedule with activities just too keep from being bored. Gone are days where I felt the need to be doing something at every waking moment of the day. I now leave time and big gaps of time to be with myself It maybe a Saturday night where I spend it alone with nothing to do. It is this time I call my margin. I fill it with reflection, reading, and exploring my thoughts, feelings, and events of the past week. To maintain this margin I keep my focus on what is important in my life right now. I call this my WIN test. WHAT IS IMPORTANT NOW. This simple phrase I learned from Steven Covey in his book "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People." We all need more margin in our lives especially in business where margin means time to reflect on creative ways to solve problems.
Stop with the "I am so busy" crap. Everyone is busy thats just life of being addictive to over activity or better put people keep themselves too busy so they don't have time to feel how unconnected they are to whats important. Jesus was obviously in much more demand than you and he always found time/solitude to reflect and pray to his Father.
In closing on this thought I want you all to know I am never too busy for my friends. Oh I am not really that alone, God and Jesus are with me nudging me, inspiring me, giving me words and most importantly guiding me down an unbelievable path. Thank You Lord for Margin!
